Whatever happened to American ingenuity and determination?
Arizona is at a crossroads. Either we can sit around wringing our hands and saying woe is me or we can become proactive as to where we’re at and where we want to go. I have extensive business and financial experience that gives me confidence to serve you well in the Arizona state legislature. I know that we can come out of this difficult time stronger than when we went into it.
I commit to serve you with integrity, not a personal agenda, with common sense over politics and innovation instead of bureaucracy. I am devoted to establishing a strong educational system, providing safe, revitalized communities and finding successful methods to stimulate the economy and increase jobs.
Imagine government having a balanced approach that includes financial stability, accountability and a commitment to serve the will of the people. My ultimate goal is that you will have peace of mind and confidence that your government is working on your behalf.
Jim Weiers
Border and Immigration
Jim Weiers is very concerned about Arizona's borders. As former Speaker of the House, he worked hard to get passed a comprehensive, effective, bipartisan border security package that Governor Napolitano ultimately vetoed.
This past session, he was pleased to work with the Arizona Legislature and Governor Brewer's office, to pass a law that mirrors the federal immigration law and gives effective tools to our state and local law enforcement to enforce the law.
There has been a lot of misinformation in the media about this new law. I encourage you to visit our legislative website and read the new immigration law for yourself. You can also view the follow up law that addressed concerns about racial profiling. Yes, that issue was addressed and racial profiling is still very much against the law, despite what you may hear the radical protesters saying.
When you see for yourself what was actually done, I think you will agree that this law is a good step forward to make Arizona neighborhoods safer.
